Drugstore Highlighters #3: Physcians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom All-in-1 Nude Palette for Face & Eyes

Don't forget to check out my instagram (which you can find here) for live video swatches of products mentioned :) Don't forget to leave a like and/or follow if you want updates on new products!

I bought this at my local CVS for $13.99. I like buying from CVS, especially Physcians Formula products because 1) they have a beauty rewards club where if you spend $50 (its cumulative, they add up the total of all your makeup-related purchases) you get $5 "extrabucks" which are credits that you can use in store and 2) they often have great deals with the reward system where, for example, you spend $15 on Physcians Formula you can get $8 extrabucks back.
Anyways, I bought this based on a recommendation on Thataylaa on Youtube.
It's a small rose gold compact with black lace pattern. The front of the compact displays the product through a plastic screen; the back opens up to reveal a small mirror and holds a brush (which comes with all Physcians Formula powder products as far as I'm aware) as well as a small diagram. Some of the shades have an imprint of a bow, reminscent of the one on the packaging.
You can find the description of this product from Physicans Formula's website which I'll link here

I've got this product in the shade Warm Nude, but there is another shade called Natural Nude.
There are 12 indivual shades ranging from white, beige, pink, and bronze. These shades can me mixed to create custom shades.

The Review:
This product is advertised as several different things such as eyeshadow, blush, bronzer, highlighter and even eyeliner. This review is based on specifically on a highlighter standpoint.
The powder is soft and buttery; each shade, from the lightest to the darkest, are all pigmented. The kind of glow from the highlight beautiful, especially when the light hits it, there's just a very pretty, luminous sheen. Because of the variety of colors given, you can mix or combine to create different colored undertones of highlighting shades. There are no chunks or even any discernible traces of glitter. I think that the texture and the specific type of glow this product gives comes from it being very finely milled, and it's very impressive to say the least.

Rating out of 5 Stars (1 being very poor, 5 being excellent):
I'd give this a 5 out of 5:
  • the packaging is very cute, it comes with a mirror and a brush which I think is very important considering the price you pay ($13.99). Keep in mind that even some high end highlighters (for example: Laura Geller Baked Gelato, Anastasia Glow Kits, Mac Extra Dimension Skinfinish etc.) don't even come with a mirror let alone a brush.
  • it is a pigmented highlighter with a "refined" glow. An issue I have with some low-end or drugstore highlighters is that the glow is often achieved through using glitter. Highlighters, to me, that contain glitter are 1) can be very unnatural looking and 2) remind (me personally) of children's makeup or a leftover mess from arts and crafts
  • the different shades, especially the arrangement provide for a customizable highlighter in one product which is amazing. You basically have an array of several shades of highlighters in the palm of you hand, not only that but this product is skin tone friendly from pale to deep.
